Up, up, and away

It used to make me nervous. He's done it with three kids, so I'm pretty used to it now.

And they all love it. I mean, really, just zoom in and look at her face. Pure joy!

I bought Kylah and Norah some matching shirts the other day (Walmart...good deal, cute colors, cute shirts!)  Kylah loves seeing Norah look like her.

So cute.
Unfortunately I remembered why I didn't put Kylah in many skirts until she walked. The back of Norah's little thighs were red and all scratched up by the end of the day because of the way she scoots. It didn't really seem to bother her, but it looked bad!

bike ride

Today was a beautiful day, 70's and sunny! We headed out to the trails by our house. Joe pushed the stroller today so I could ride his bike with Joey. Kylah hasn't been too fond of her bike (even though we got her a new one) so she just walked with Joe. Joey and I would take off and ride ahead and then eventually head back to meet up with Joe and the girls. I think he thought it was pretty fun that we could just ride our bikes fast and not wait for anyone.  Towards the end he wanted to keep going to see if the trail we were on would meet up with the museum (which it did), and then we took a different way home. He made it all the way...what a trooper!

Yesterday was rainy and chilly, so the kids and I headed to Fun City (think ChuckeeCheese without the big Mouse) for a little indoor playtime. They get to "pretend" on the rides when I take them, but they seem to have a good time anyway! :)
Joey got in with Norah.

Last night we had some friends from church over. Their oldest boy is Joey's age, and they waited to start him for kindergarten just like we did, so Joey and Dayson are the oldest in their classes at church.  We also got them on the same baseball team this summer, so they've enjoyed spending more time together.
Joey and Dayson played his army game together.

Joey was teaching Dayson how to snap the rubberband.

They also have a little girl, Brynlee, who is a year younger than Kylah (but has been fully pottytrained for over 6 months...sigh...)
Her and Kylah have a lot of fun together too.

oh, the memories

Tonight before dinner Joey and Kylah were playing babies. They think it's pretty fun, and I let them do it as long as they are happy babies (who needs 2 more "crying" babies in the house?!)  :)

Joey found a Nuk paci (which is the kind he used when he was little---Norah uses Mam's) and buckled himself in Norah's chair.  Awww...we haven't seen that paci face in years.  What memories.  He loved his paci!  :)

Kylah wanted me to rock her in Norah's chair tonight, so I spent quite a bit of time just rocking her like a baby and singing to her.  She loved it, and it was actually some nice cuddle time!
(When did she start looking so old?!)

Joey spent the night at his friend's Zeke house last night (my good friend's son that lives down the street.)  He wanted me to take his picture last night before he left.
He had a really good time, but apparently the big storms woke him up in the middle of the night, and he was scared.  Callie said he did really good, though, and never asked to go home, so she just comforted him and kept him there.  She did say he was up for a while, so he was pretty tired and cranky today!!

Since Joey was gone last night Kylah got a little extra one-on-one time. Her and Joe played Candyland and Yahtzee, and I got to corral Norah from destroying their game.  :)

Kylah was a little sad last night when she got home from school. When we asked her what was wrong, she said that her friend, L at school told her that her hair wasn't pretty.  Apparently the whole story (according to Kylah) was that Kylah was telling L that her hair was turning blond (which I had just told Kylah the other day that her hair was getting lighter from the sun.)  Anyway, L has blond hair, so I'm assuming Kylah wanted to tell her. Then L told Kylah that her hair wasn't pretty.  So sad! We told Kylah over and over last night that her hair is beautiful (which it is!!)  Not the first time someone is going to say something mean to one of my kids, but it's still so sad that I can't protect them from all of that.

Toothy grin

I got some sweet pictures of Norah this morning. I love that she has this toothy grin now. She is no longer a hillbilly, and has both front teeth. She actually has 5 teeth now and is working on her 6th!

Sweet sleepy eyes...she had just woken up this morning.

And she's a musical prodigy! Actually, I am fairly impressed that she knows how to blow this and make noise!

All the kids were cuddled up with Joe on his chair the other night. It was a sweet moment, but then it looks like Norah was all done with it right before I took this picture! :)

I didn't take any pictures today, but we had a fun-filled day. It was about 80 degrees outside today, so we spent as much time outside as we could. Joey and Kylah started this morning by digging for worms in the backyard...cute and messy. Then we headed to some trails to ride bikes and play with some friends. The kids even got to play in the water in the creek because it was so nice!  We finally got home around 2:00 this afternoon and had a little quiet time while Norah took a nap. Then we headed out again to watch Joey's first t-ball practice. He was so excited, and was talking about it all day!  When we got home, the kids got baths and showers while I finished making dinner, and then it was bed time after dinner. We were all tired, but it was a good tired! :)

Speaking of meals...Meredith and I made frozen meals together on Saturday night. We went grocergy shopping together on Friday (with 5 kiddos), and then on Saturday night we cooked meals to freeze together (we sent all the kids over to Mere's house with the daddies this time!)  :)  We started the process around 4:00, and we were done with kitchen clean at 9:00 pm.  We both ended up with 18 meals in our freezers...that's 36 meals total!  We were impressed with our effort. :)  And this week we have been reaping the benefits of having frozen meals already made!  I think we will be continuing this!

a day at the park

Today was supposed to be almost 70 degrees, so the kids and I decided to head to the park. Apparently I forgot to read the entire forecast. It was pretty windy...like 20-40 mph winds. We still had fun at the park; we just didn't stay as long as originally planned. :)

The kids always love taking a picnic lunch to the park!

And Norah loves to swing the whole time. She is happy as can be in that swing! (Even though I know she looks a little unsure here...)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This past weekend Joe's dad was here to start plumbing the Adair's new house (how cool is that?!) Anyway, since Joe and Dave were his "helpers", we sent Joey and Connor out there to help as well. I don't have any pictures, but Joey came back so dirty that I'm sure he had to have had a blast!

The kids were so tired that night (so were the big boys!).  :)
All of the big kids were vegged out in front of the TV.

Joey went to bed at 7 that night and slept until 8 the next morning! Gotta love that fresh air!
