College World Series

We got tickets to go to a College World Series baseball game both on Friday night and Sunday night. We had a blast, and I think Joey had the most fun of all. Of course it helped that he got lots of yummy food---hotdogs, dip 'n dots, frozen lemonade and nachos (not all in one night, though!) He didn't make it through the whole game, but he lasted quite a few innings.

During the game on Friday, there was a rain delay, and this is what Joey looked like after the rain!

This is our most recent family picture that our good friend Dave took for us while he was here.

And a cute one of Joey and Kylah.

Yesterday, Joey turned 2!! I can't believe my baby is two years old. We didn't really celebrate yesterday, because we are waiting until this next weekend when my parents and some of his little friends are here. He did get a yummy ice cream cone on his birthday!

Kylah meets the Manthe side...and a smile!

We went to Kansas to visit Joe's family this past week. Joey, Kylah and I got to spend a few extra days there, which was fun. Here are a few of the Manthe's that Kylah got to meet...there were many more!

Here is Kylah with Grandpa. He says she's too small! :) (Meaning he can't bounce her on the big ball yet like he does with Joey!)

We went to have lunch with Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Manthe. Joey had a great time with Great Grandpa! Aunt Susan, Trish and Phyllicia were also there.

Uncle Jeff (aka Uncle Meat---which is actually what Joey calls him) holding Kylah.

I call this the Moses basket. I think Joe's mom used this with Jeff and James. Kylah seemed to sleep really well in it while we were there, so Jennifer was nice enough to let us bring it home for a while. Whatever gets her to sleep well! :)

And my big baby in the Moses basket.

Joey loving on his cousin Hannah's chubby cheeks.

Back at home, and bath time. We have yet to find all of the pieces to our baby bath tub, so baths take place on a rolled up towel in the bathtub. I guess it works!

Taking a nap with Daddy.

This was actually taken at Joe's parents house. Little boy on the big toilet...priceless! :)

And, finally, Kylah gave us her first real smile yesterday. Actually, let me clarify that...Kylah gave her daddy her first real smile...and all smiles since. I have yet to receive one. Nevermind that I am the one to feed her, get up in the middle of the night with her, basically keep her alive...but who gets rewarded with all her smiles---her daddy. I guess this is a sign that she is most likely going to be a daddy's girl!

Here she is warming up for a smile.

And here is the beautiful smile!

good family friends

We had an awesome time with Dave and Mere this past weekend. We did so many fun things, and it was just great to hang out.

Connor and Joey had a great time together. They slept in the same room, so it was so precious to listen to them talk when they woke up in the morning. Here they are jumping on the mattress downstairs.

I love the looks of pure joy on their faces!

Kylah enjoyed the extra cuddles and noise! :) Little Audrey loved baby Kylah and always wanted to hold her.

This is kind of a funny pose, but Kylah was laying on her tummy on my lap and grasping my fingers. She loves to hold onto my fingers.

Of course the kids had fun bath times together!

On Saturday we went to the zoo. It was hot, but all the kids did great! Joey was still scared of the gorillas!

Dave took these pictures with his camera, which has a huge lens on it. Joey leaned over to look inside the lens, and Dave caught it.

Family picture at the zoo. Kylah was a trooper too, even though she got a little hot at times in her carseat!

I think this picture captures Joey's true personality...I love it!

And what would newborn pictures be without those little crossed eyes. She was working so hard to focus on the top of the carseat.

We had an awesome time with the Adairs and wish we could see them more often!

Cuddle Time

Yesterday morning when I went to get Joey out of bed, he wanted Kylah to lay in his bed with him. And he did not want me to take her back. They laid like this for at least 10 minutes. I love the protective arm he has around her!

Dave, Mere, Connor and Audrey are here for the weekend. We've had a fun day so far. Joey and Connor are both in Joey's room, so it's been fun to listen to them go to bed and wake up together (even though it took them over an hour to go to sleep for a nap today!) :) I love the little boy giggles. One scenario from today when they were supposed to be taking a nap: We hear Connor say: "Joey, that's dangerous!" When the dads went in to give a little 'non-verbal intimidation' as Dave called it, Joey was up holding the monitor which he had unplugged, and Connor was up and around with him. Joey ran and jumped in bed when he saw Joe. We were impressed the Connor knew it was dangerous to unplug the monitor! They did eventually fall asleep, thank goodness!

I'll post some pictures of all the kids soon!

Kylah goes to church

Sunday was Kylah's first time at church. All the nursery ladies loved her! We also went out to eat after church for Joe's birthday, and she did great. I was going to get a picture of Kylah with Joey dressed in their church outfits, but by the time I remembered, Joey was already down for his nap. Oh well!
