Ice cream treat

We had to celebrate finishing the first week of school with ice cream!

Our downtown is beautiful and has a really fun ice cream store that is like an old fashioned ice cream shop. We love it!

First day of school 2016

It's so hard to believe our youngest started Kindergarten today. ALL three of our kids are in school (Joe may be rejoicing about no more childcare costs, since we've been paying those for 10 years...)
Here is the obligatory first day of school pic..
I think they all look adorable in their matching uniforms.

I held it together this morning. I have felt really great about Norah going to Kindergarten. Yes, I will miss having my little sidekick at home, but she is SO ready to start.

I pray these kiddos have a God-honoring and wonderful school year!

Summer fun pictures

We had such a fun summer. There was a lot of house building and working at the new house going on, but even in between that we managed to have a lot of fun.
These are just some hodge podge pictures of some of the rest of our summer fun that didn't go in other posts.

Josh and Val and fam are here!

We have been anticipating the arrival of Josh and Val and their five kids for months now. They are all home in Kansas for furlough until next summer. And we are SO excited to have them close again.
It was so great to see all their kids again and love on them.
The cousins all picked up as if they had never left. I love it.

We will look forward to many more weekends with them this year! Yay!

Kids go to Kansas

All three kids spent a week in Kansas at Joe's parents' house towards the end of July. Yes, Joe and I had a whole week at home to ourselves. It was wonderful.
And the kids had a blast in Kansas.
Norah spent a lot of time at Naomi's house with her cousins there and even got to have a sleepover.

Jake took Joey and Silas to a Royals game. How fun!

Sno cones with Nana after church.

A cousin dinner.

Kylah even sewed her own apron with Nana's help!

We enjoyed our week, but we did enjoy having our kids back home. :)
