Halloween

 Well, it's been almost a year since I've posted...but I do plan to go back and fill in the dates with pictures...hopefully. :)

We had a fun Halloween again this year. I'm still not a huge fan of it, but the kids love to dress up, and I love candy.  Win, win.

Norah had a presentation at her school that day, so she went to school dressed up as Artemis, goddess of the hunt. She looked beautiful and did a great job on her presentation.

Kylah had crazy dress up day at her school, so this is what she put together. 

Joey looked normal for school so he didn't get a picture. :)

Joey was VERY happy with his costume this year. He wanted to be Wild Card from Fortnite (the video game that every middle schooler loves right now...blah, blah, blah). But he does play against his Uncles too so that's fun!

I put his costume together from things I found at Goodwill, and painted the mask. He was so happy and impressed.

So we had a Wildcard, a hotdog, and a s'more.

Love it!

Joey hung out at his friend's house and they went trick or treating.

The rest of us headed over to the Harris'. It was drizzling and cold, but we still managed to have fun.

fall sports

 Fall actually didn't seem quite as crazy as last year because Joey didn't play football this year. Is it bad to say I'm kind of glad he doesn't love football?!?!....

Joey had two fall baseball tournaments. He is on a new team that Joe and another coach have formed. No more Yellow Jackets... :(  But we are so excited for this new team.

I am coaching a new travel softball team for Kylah. She is ready for the next step up, and since I'm coaching we can stay in local tournaments... ;)

Audrey is on our team which is super fun!

Kylah also played volleyball for the first time ever. She LOVED it. She was so nervous to play it at first because she had never done it before, but once she got the hang of it she loved it. She came so far in just one short season, and I'm so excited to see her continue to play and grow in the BEST SPORT EVER. 

Oh, and Meredith was my assistant coach so we could make sure Audrey was on our team too. We had a blast coaching together.

Norah played fall softball. She's a beast. I mean really, she just goes 110% and knows so much about the game that I don't even know how she knows. (well I guess watching her siblings for 7 years has helped...)

Since I was coaching volleyball and Kylah's softball team I couldn't coach Norah. So this was the first time ever that Joe and I have sat in the stands together to cheer on one of our kids. It was kind of fun!

Fall break to Ohio

 The kids have a few days off in October every year. The past few years we have gone to the beach, but this year we decided to go to my parents' house in Ohio. We haven't been there in quite a while, so we were all excited to get away and go see them. Esther and the girls had a free weekend, so they met us there as well.

Sweet Abbie has gotten so big. 

We headed to a park the first day because it was so nice outside.

This park was so old school but so fun!

After lunch we headed to see my dad's baseball game. (the college team he coaches...)

Joey got to run the scoreboard most of the time which was so fun for him.

Papa and Gramma's hot tub is always a hit!

The next day we went to my parent's church and then headed to a local dairy farm where they had a fall festival. 

And where they have amazing ice cream.

I don't think Esther had to put her girls in their carseats once all weekend. She had quite the little mamas helping her! :)

Papa is always good at getting the kids settled down before bed.

Abbie LOVED Joey.

Esther and the girls headed home Monday morning. The rest of us loaded up and headed to Cincinatti to see the Creation Museum. It was amazing!

We were all enthralled with the 4-D show about creation, and all of the information and life sized replicas throughout the museum.

There was a petting zoo outside which was fun.

Joe and I said "no" when our kids wanted to do the $5 camel rides. Papa and Gramma quickly said "YES!" :)

The camel rides were one of the highlights for the kids, though!

The next day the guys went golfing and the girls went shopping. 

This toy store was the favorite. ;)

And then that evening we got to go help my parents pick out a new puppy. There were SO many cute ones. Our kids begged to take one home. 11 hour car ride...new puppy...not going to happen!

We left early the next morning. We made a detour in Springfield to eat at Lambert's Cafe. The kids loved catching all the throwed rolls!

And Kylah enjoyed drinking out of a cup like her Grandpa does! 

What a fun trip we had!
