The puke machine

We just got back from a long weekend visit to our best friends, the Adair's. We had a wonderful time. Joe and Dave played in a charity golf scramble on Saturday. While they were golfing, we took the kids to Siloam Springs to see my good friend Christine and her three kids. Christine's youngest, Makaiah, is 6 months old, and this was the first time we got to meet her. She is a sweetie! We put all 7 kids to bed at Dave and Mere's while all of us adults played games...it was great.

Lovin' Kylah's chubby little face!

Feeding all seven kiddos. Oh, did I mention this was the site of the first puking incident? While at the Adair's our poor Joey had his first introduction to vomit. He caught a nasty little stomach virus...which he then proceeded to share with me, Joe and Connor! I'm hoping the rest of the Adair's don't get sick. For some reason, he chose every night at supper to puke...three nights in a row! We left some nice soveneirs for the Adair's! :)

The four little girls looking way too cute. Don't you love Makaiah's bow?

Joe enjoying some time with the girls. Audrey likes to cuddle with Uncle Joe.

Enjoying some popsicles outside. I'm pretty sure this was after puking episode #2. I figure a popsicle might help settle Joey's tummy. By then he had learned to say "tummy hurt."

Vegging out while watching Diego (Connor's and Joey's new favorite cartoon.) Joey had spurts of energy, but this is pretty much what he looked like the whole weekend. I hate it that he doesn't feel good, but I do like all the cuddles, especially when he asks me to cuddle on the couch with him.

Connor is introducing Kylah to his pet frog, Saymon. Kylah was quite amazed.

On Sunday afternoon, we got a babysitter (actually 2) for the kids and went golfing. In all the years we've been friends with the Adair's, we've never all been golfing together. It was a blast...I'm sure we'll be doing that again!

Wouldn't you know it...Mere and I have the exact same sunglasses---bought at different times in different states.

On Monday we went to the safari. It was fun---even though a few of us were feeling a little ill. My favorite part was the camels sticking their heads inside our car windows for bread. Or was it Connor driving us off the road while on the trail...

Kylah enjoyed the safari ride with me in the back seat.

The sickies.

Audrey giving Kylah some kisses.

Joey's favorite spot.

We had a wonderful trip, but we're also glad to be home. Joey did ok today. He kept his dinner (toast and oatmeal) down tonight. Even though he held his tummy, put his fingers in his mouth and said "no throw-up" a few times. We'll see how the rest of the night goes. Joe and I are both feeling much better today, so I'm not sure why Joey's virus is hanging on longer. We'll have a quiet day at home tomorrow to recoup.

Kylah is 4 months old!

Kylah turned 4 months old yesterday. I can't believe it's been 4 months since she's been born. Does it always go so much faster with the second one??
Here are her 4 month stats:
Weight: 12 pounds, 12 ounces (40%)
Height: 25 inches (75%)
Head circumference: 16.25 inches (60%)
She's growing right on track with what she's done before. She's had a little hoarse voice for over a week. But nothing else is wrong...no cough, no fever, no runny nose. It could be that she has some kind of a virus or she could be refluxing without me really knowing it. We'll keep an eye on it. Hopefully it goes away on its own!
Joey was a good big brother at the doctor's office (if we forget about the 20 paper towels he pulled out, the paper he pulled off the table, and the fact that he kept turning the light off when the doctor was examining Kylah...). When Kylah got her shots and started crying, Joey came over and held her hand. It was pretty sweet.
He loves going to the doctor (even though he wasn't the patient)...he gets to ride the elevator and got a fake tatoo to put on!

Meetin' the Deacon

We got to meet our new nephew Deacon this weekend. He is such a cuddly little newborn. He didn't really seem THAT big to me, since he still curls up in a little ball like a newborn.

Kylah and Deacon really hit it off.

Although, when I compared Deacon's feet with Kylah's feet, I realized how big he really is.

I didn't get any pictures of the other kids together. They were pretty much running around together the whole time nonstop. As always, Joey got his fill of princess things and necklaces. He even came home wearing a princess bandaid (which Joe promptly removed once we got home!) :)

My children...all grown up!

I always wonder what Kylah will look like with hair. Well, wonder no more!!

And here's a preview of what Joey will look like when he's a little older!

I am loving this website a little too much. I think my favorite is to see what Kylah will look like with hair. :)

Do you think we would have liked each other???

What could have been....
Late 1990's
Early 1990's

Late 1980's
Late 1970's

1970's

1960's

1960

1950

Pretty funny, huh? :) If you want to do it for yourself, go to www.yearbookyourself.com. I thought some of those pictures showed how much we really do resemble our parents and grandparents!!

Kylah dedicated

Kylah Sue was dedicated at church this past Sunday. She looked like a little angel in her fluffy white outfit.

My mom was here from Ohio, and Joe's parents drove up just to see Kylah dedicated. We were very thankful they could all be there for her! (Somehow I forgot to take pictures of Kylah with her grandparents.)

All ready for church. Can you tell who wasn't happy to be taking a picture?!

It was nice because the guy who dedicated Kylah knows us (he was our journey group leader last year). Unfortunately, since the day he met us he always mispronounces our last name--Mante instead of Manthe, even though we correct him ever time. It's only fitting that he misponounced our last name on Sunday too! :)

*********************************************************************************

Tonight after work Joe took Joey golfing. He told Joey about it on Saturday, so Joey's been talking about it ever since. Needless to say, he was a little bit excited!

Hmmmm, which club should I use???

Kylah waiting in the car while mommy took pictures.

Joey wasn't too sure about the golf cart at first, but once they got going he loved it.

Warming up on the first hole. When they got home Joey told me all about putting the ball in the hole, hitting the golf ball, drinking blue juice (powerade), and eating M&M's. Sounds like he enjoyed the food as much as the golf! They actually made it through four holes!

I'm a Puggle!

Joey is now a puggle on Wednesday nights. He loves going to church, and the thing he talks the most about is the little Dixie cups he gets to drink out of!

Kylah has been sucking on her fingers more and more. She looked so cute last night asleep in her swing that I had to take her picture. Unfortunately the flash woke her up...thus the deer-in-the-headlight look she has.

Joey's new favorite spot!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are having to find a new babysitter for the kids. Our current one is downsizing, so my part-time kids have to go. :( The first interview we had was definitely a no-go. We have another one tonight, so maybe it'll be the one. Pray for us if you think about it. It's always hard finding just the right person to care for your kids.
